The Matchless Spinning Wheel is the most responsive spinning wheel available today. Whether you choose single treadle or double treadle action, you'll appreciate our wheels' matchless capabilities.
Included with each wheel: 4 bobbins, fast and medium speed whorls, a threading hook, our tensioned, collapsible Lazy Kate, and a carrying strap.
The Schacht Matchless Spinning Wheel offers double drive, Scotch tension, and bobbin-lead modes of operation. Wheels come with two flyer whorls (medium and fast); four additional flyer whorls offer spinning ratios from 4:1 to 21:1.
The 19.5" drive wheel and flyer shaft are supported by self-aligning bronze bearings for precise action. Each flyer is individually balanced and the bobbins and flyer whorls are trued on center for long and superior service.
The Matchless includes four Spinning Wheel Bobbins. Also available are the High Speed Bobbin, Travel Bobbin, and Bulky Bobbin (when using the Bulky Plyer Flyer).
The Schacht Matchless wheel is a delight to spin on. I had a customer who was working with a group of spinners on her certificate of excellence in spinning. She said that she had never had so much control over her spinning. The other spinners studying with her for their certificate of excellence purchased the Matchless wheel after they saw how responsive her Matchless wheel was and what it was capable of doing. Personally, I think that the fact that Schacht wheels have a bearing in both the front and back of the flyer makes it possible to spin more yarn in less time. This wheel is suitable for a beginning spinner or an advanced spinner. Both will enjoy the wheels capabilities!
Schacht Spinning Wheels have both Scotch Tension and Double Drive and can be operated in Bobbin Lead mode. With their wide range of optional ratios (4:1 to 27:5) they are suitable for beginners as well as experienced spinners. The 19.5 inch drive wheel and the flyer shaft are supported by self aligning bronze bearings for precise action. Each flyer is individually balanced and the bobbins and flyer whorls are trued on center for optimal performance. The flyer whorls have special square holes in the center which makes mounting them on the flyer shaft very quick, and they'll never loosen whether you're spinning S or Z. The flyer hooks are made of stainless steel. The rear legs of the wheel have non marring rubber feet and the front legs are adjustable to accommodate uneven floors. Treadling on the generously sized treadle(s) is light and comfortable. This Schacht Matchless double treadle wheel has a split treadle which operates as a true double treadle wheel. It has a very positive smooth action. Wheels are made of hard maple and walnut and finished with a hand rubbed Danish oil. Shipped UPS, minimal set up time required.
Wheels come standard with 2 whorls (ratios of 9:1, 11:1 and 13:1, 15.5:1),4 bobbins, Lazy Kate, Carry Strap, Threading Hook, 2 Drive Bands, and Instruction Booklet. There is a lot of room in the Matchless box for fiber and additional items you may want to add.
